Western Region: separatists attack in Fondenera
They burst into the air and fired into a local market, taking away traders’ goods.
The attack occurred on the morning of July 1 . According to corroborating sources, a group of heavily armed separatist fighters from the South West region burst into the Pia market in Fondonera, in the Menoua department.
Coming on board the motorcycles, they surprised the traders and set fire to cars and motorcycles, not without looting the shops. To terrorize the traders, these separatists will fire several shots in the air urging the traders to vacate the premises. The fighters will then set fire to two cars and three motorcycles, before melting into nature.

More fear than harm, as no loss of human life has been reported. This is not the first time that the separatists have made inroads into Fondonera. The locality is in fact bordering the South-West region, mired just like that of the North-West in a socio-political and security crisis for six years.
