Spectacular tributes to Queen Elizabeth 2 in a Cameroonian village

It’s a surreal scene. In a Cameroonian village without a paved road, a church has decided to pay a last tribute to the Queen of England who died on September 8 at the age of 96. These Cameroonians refused to accept official tributes paid by the President of the Republic Paul Biya and Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute. They organized a long procession on a rough road. In front of the convoy, sits a giant poster of the deceased Queen of England. All the leaders of the church in their best clothes parade to the sound of marching bands under the hot sun.

The image disappoints several Cameroonians who believe that their compatriots did not need to show as much zeal for a queen whose reputation in Africa is not the best. For some, this giant procession organized in tribute to Elizabeth 2 is proof that Cameroonians are bored in their country.

As a reminder, Cameroon will be represented at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth by the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute. Cameroonian President Paul Biya is now the world’s oldest head of state after Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully in Balmoral, Scotland, Buckingham Palace has announced.
