SPECIAL MILITARY FORCES WILL BE ADDED TO THE BIR IN THE ANGLOPHONE REGIONS
Apart from the BIR and the gendarmerie, the Cameroonian Special Forces will now be deployed in large quantities in the English-speaking area. A confidential letter from the SGPR to Beti Assomo has leaked.
The Special Forces of the Cameroonian army will be at the front lines of the war that Yaoundé has launched against the secessionists of Noso.
Last week, the Head of State Paul Biya gave his agreement to the Minister of Defense for the deployment of Special Forces in this area.
According to journalist Michel Biem Tong, the deployment of the Special Forces does not mean that Yaoundé has taken the measure of the resumption of fighting in Ambazonia, that the regular army is overwhelmed by the events that only the special forces can crush the Ambazonian guerrillas.
“The Cameroonian secret services (DGRE, SEMIL) have also failed in their mission which consists in infiltrating and dividing the English-speaking independence movement”, also writes the journalist.
This is not the first time that special forces have been deployed in Noso. In 2018, elements of the Polyvalent Intervention Group of the National Gendarmerie (GPIGN) were deployed in Noso, in order to fight the ambaboys there.
