Retirement of Colonel Bamkoui: the need to rebuild the Cameroonian army amidst Ambazonian war

Cameroon is riddled with violence, especially in the North West and South West (Noso) regions where English-speaking separatists are ready to kill to make their voices heard. Added to these, there is the Islamic sect Boko Haram which is also rampant.

Violence is growing in Cameroon. We have since known of the violent extremism that is rampant in, the North West and South West NOSO. These last days have been the scene of several macabre acts on civilian populations. Examples include the arson attack on the Mamfè hospital, the Akwaya massacre and most recently the explosion of a homemade bomb in Yaoundé at the Mokolo market.

Faced with all this violence, Chantal Roger Tuilé thinks that the Cameroonian army must be completely rebuilt. Indeed, the colleague Actu Cameroun indicates in his columns of the day that Chantal Roger Tuilé, journalist and former director of publication of La Tribune de l’Est criticizes the role of the Cameroonian army in this war. It was on Info Tv in the Sunday program “Libre Expression”.

“I think that the Cameroonian army must be completely rebuilt. Yaoundé is old. We have to change everything, we have to move the capital, we have to modernize it,” he said.

As a reminder, Saturday June 25, 2022, the whole country woke up to the bad news that an inter-community conflict led to the massacre of more than thirty people in Akwaya. It is a commune of Cameroon located in the South West region and the Manyu department, near the border with Nigeria.
