Panic and psychosis in Ngaoundéré as Explosives seized

Explosives seized by Customs in Ngaoundere

– The city of Ngaoundéré is exposed to insecurity

– Customs officials seized a large quantity of explosives in an unmarked vehicle

– The vehicle came from Nigeria

The month of June 2022 began in the Adamaoua region with panic and psychosis. This Tuesday, June 1, the Commercial Customs Brigade of Banyo in the department of Mayo-Banyo seized at the entry point of Boudjoumkoura, a village in the town of Banyo located in the region mentioned above a large quantity of explosives, learned from security sources.

More precisely, it is 45 aluminum tubes, an essential element in the composition and manufacture of explosive devices.
Indeed, the men of Customs Commander Jean Marie Toukam, head of the Adamaoua customs sector, in a routine check on an unmarked vehicle from neighboring Nigeria carrying personal effects for a wedding, discovered the danger in circulation.

The contents of the vehicle were seized and the occupants questioned are in the hands of the security forces to determine the origin of these explosives and determine the responsibilities. A report of the seizure has been transmitted to the higher hierarchy.

This clearly demonstrates that security surveillance in addition to fiscal missions is more effective than ever in the Adamaoua Customs Sector.

It should be recalled that for several years now, the Septentrion zone has been plagued by insecurity with attacks by the Islamic sect Boko Haram. Recently, following an umpteenth incursion of this sect in the locality of Hitawa, located in the Far North region, Mayo-Tsanaga department, Mokolo district, 7 people including 3 soldiers lost their lives.
