Missong Massacre in the North West: Kamto Expresses Desolation and accuses  Biya

Maurice Kamto expresses his desolation

This is the massacre of too much!!! The Cameroonian army has confirmed the massacre of nine (09) civilians, including an 18-month-old child and four women, on the evening of Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Missong by Zhoa, in the Arrondissement of Fungom, Department of Mentchum, North West Region. Faced with this drift, Maurice Kamto makes an exceptional request to Paul Biya. This is contained in a statement.

Statement on the military “blunder” that occurred on June 1, 2022 in Missong in the Northwest, and renewed call for an end to the civil war in the English-speaking regions of the country and the immediate opening of an inclusive national dialogue

In a communiqué dated June 7, 2022, the Communication of the Armed Forces revealed the murder by certain elements of the Defense Forces of nine (09) civilians, including an 18-month-old child and four women, on the evening of Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Missong by Zhoa, in the Fungom Borough, Mentchum Department, Northwest Region.
In addition to the nine innocent people killed by men who were supposedly responsible for their protection and security against external threats, a 12-month-old child, also hit by a bullet fired by these soldiers, has since been hospitalized.
This tragedy, which the Army described as a “blunder”, is the “blunder” of too much in this useless civil war in which a handful of people have plunged our country for almost six years, based on interests that are not those of the Cameroonian people.

Indeed, this war in which young soldiers, young armed rebel fighters and the civilian population are dying, in the total indifference of an absent President of the Republic and the Army hierarchy, is the sole business of
of a circle of people who live off the tragedy of the people and the misfortune of our country. This must stop now! Our people have suffered enough from their macabre game.
Before the Missong tragedy, there were several other “blunders”, including the one in Ngarbuh, which later turned out to be a state lie. More than two years after the Ngarbuh tragedy, the government continues to obstruct the manifestation of the truth before the Yaoundé Military Tribunal.

The multiplication of “blunders” in this civil war that the CPDM regime and its organic intellectuals have irresponsibly encouraged, no doubt hoping to escape their disastrous record of managing the country, raises questions about what has happened to the professionalism of our Army, once recognized and justly celebrated.
How can the government hope to make the Army-Nation link effective when these “blunders” are so recurrent and so deadly, including for babies?
In my own name and in the name of the militants and sympathizers of the MRC, I present our most saddened condolences to the families so hard hit by the death of some of theirs. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured infant still hospitalized and much courage to his family.

The MRC notes that Parliament is unworthy of representing the interests of the Cameroonian people and will remain so as long as it proves incapable of dealing with a subject as vital as the civil war that has been ravaging the English-speaking regions of the country for more than five years, and especially since the beginning of the war.
for more than five years, and especially since the failure of the famous Grand Dialogue of 2019.
The MRC believes that the high command of our Army has failed in the role of advisor that it should have played with the political power to dissuade it from rejecting on the Defense Forces, the resolution of a problem whose solution is essentially political.

In this moment of sadness for our Nation, the MRC militants are all the more affected that some of their comrades are serving heavy prison sentences throughout the country and must pay heavy fines, simply for having peacefully demanded the end of this useless and budgetary civil war, and the organization of a true inclusive national dialogue to seek, among Cameroonians, a lasting solution to its causes. They remain bruised by the death in custody of the young political hostage, their comrade Rodrigue NDAGUEHO KOUFET, killed by negligence for having marched peacefully, on September 22, 2020, like many of his comrades, against this dirty war.

So that the compatriots of Missong did not die for nothing, like others before them, the MRC hopes that their lives snatched for nothing will sound a patriotic awakening of Cameroonians, so that they peacefully demand from Mr. Paul BIYA, from the regime-RDPC, from the women and men who claim to represent them in the various public institutions the immediate end of this civil war which is sowing unhappiness among our people and causing harm to our country, especially to the military and their families, to the armed rebel fighters and their families, to the innocent populations, to our youth, to our public finances, to our economy, to the future of our children, to the image of our Army, to national cohesion.
