Military World Cup: no team can beat Cameroon, not even Germany

Cameroon’s national team ambitions were high ahead of the start of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Among other things, qualify directly for the 2023 World Cup and as a bonus get the continental trophy. The Indomitable Lionesses were sadly tamed by Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the AFCON quarter-finals which put a damper on their ambitions.

But a glimmer of hope appeared on the horizon offering them the chance to qualify for said world. And to do so, the Players had to beat Botswana in the pre-play-off match to access the play-offs. It is now done.

Gabriel Zabo’s protégés won 1-0, against a modest Botswana team, very playful and conquering. She also made Nchout Ajara and her teammates dizzy, and held them at bay throughout the first round. It was only in the 45th minute, after many unsuccessful attempts, that the Inter Milan striker managed to find the fault with a sumptuous strike from the right at the entrance to the Botswana area.

A definite advantage which has reinforced the girls of Zabo, dominating in the match and lacking success until then. The Lionesses finally manage to win their ticket to the play-offs and thus ‘save’ the head of Gabriel Zabo.

Cameroon and Senegal are therefore qualified for the continental play-offs for the 2023 World Cup. This will be the last stage on the road to the World Cup. Three international repechage mini-tournaments will be organized there from February 18 to 23, with 10 countries. The winning selection in each of these three groups will compete in the World Cup.

Speaking of the World Cup, Cameroon competes with Usa at the Military World Cup. And it seems to work well for the Cameroonian girls who destroy everything in their path. After the host country, the USA and Ireland, it was Germany’s turn to taste the ardor of the Cameroonian players.

Indeed, against the Germans last Sunday (July 17, 2022), the Cameroonians largely won with a score of 3-0, thus winning a total of 9 points and with 17 goals, they constitute the best attack in the championship.

With this third victory out of three possible, the lionesses are first in Group A with 9 points ahead of the United States, who have 6 points, Germany with 6 points, Ireland and Belgium who have 0 points each.

Cameroon’s next match is scheduled for July 19 against Belgium. The Lionesses in this tournament reserved for military women and which is held in the United States are already qualified for the next round.
