Leicester reject 17 million from Monaco for Boubakary Soumare
The ‘Daily Mail’ claims that Leicester City have rejected a 17 million euro bid from Monaco for Boubakary Soumare, who joined the Foxes just after leaving Ligue 1, where he played for Lille. The offer was around his market value, but the English side want more money.

Boubakary Soumare is in the process of establishing himself as a key player in the Premier League, but at the moment he is not undisputed. He made 29 appearances last season, 18 of them starts, which contrasts with the 43 appearances he made in the 20-21 season with Lille.
Even so, Monaco are so interested in him that they have made an offer of 17 million euros for him. The answer has been negative, according to ‘Daily Mail’. The Foxes do not intend to let him leave for that amount and much less considering that, to get him out of Ligue 1, they paid 20 million euros.
The midfielder’s market value is around the 17 million that was put on the table, but he has a contract until 2026 and is one of the big hopes for the King Power Stadium project. It will not be easy for their offices to get rid of him unless it is for a big sum that breaks their expectations.
It also remains to be seen whether Soumare would be happy to return to France. In principle, he left France for a new adventure in the Premier League and he hasn’t even been there for two years. It would make sense that he would want to stay where he is until he earns a more important place… but the opposite cannot be ruled out.
