Mokolo market witnessed an explosion

New measures have just been announced after the explosion of a suspicious package at the Mokolo market in Yaoundé, a explosion that caused damage.

On the evening of this explosion, the SDO of Mfoundi published an order where measures such as the prohibition of depositing or abandoning parcels in all public places and environments open to the public were taken.

“Are and remain, from the date of signature of this order, prohibited throughout the Division of Mfoundi, the deposit and / or abandonment of packages (bags, packages, packaging, plastics…) in all public places and environments open to the public, ”reads the prefectural decree.

The DO recalls that the law enforcement forces are authorized to search any package or bag deemed suspicious, mainly the so-called “black plastic” packaging

“The unjustified detention of objects likely (nuts, balls, bolts , nails, pieces of iron…) is a dangerous preparation. Anyone who contravenes the provisions of article 1 above is a suspect”, specifies the DO of Mfoundi.

“Is also suspicious. anyone who rejoices in the difficulties of the state or wishes to see the state in difficulty. The Commander of the Gendarmerie Group of Mfoundi, the Commanders of the Gendarmerie Company of Yaoundé 1st, 2 and 3 and the Central Commissioners n° 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the city of Yaoundé are responsible for the execution of this Order which will be recorded and communicated wherever necessary”, concluded the DO of Mfoundi.

Explosion in Mokolo: suspects arrested

On the evening of Tuesday, July 12, a parcel bomb exploded at the Mokolo market in Yaoundé.

This explosion did enough damage, including one seriously injured. From concordant sources, we learn that two individuals, presumed accomplices and perpetrators of this act, have been arrested.

It would be two traders operating at the Mokolo market in Yaoundé. They are currently arrested suspects. An open investigation will soon have to locate the responsibilities.

For the time being, the prefect of the department of Mfoundi has issued an order to prohibit the deposit or abandonment of parcels in the public spaces of the department.
