According to a bulletin issued less than 24 hours after the departure of French President Emmanuel Macron from Yaoundé, we learn that the French ambassador to Cameroon, Mr. Christophe Guilhou was fired. His successor is even already known.

The information disseminated by the magazine Africa Intelligence announces that Christophe Guilhou can now ask questions about his future.

“A general will take the helm of the French Embassy in Yaoundé… while Emmanuel Macron made an official visit to Cameroon on July 26…”, reads the article read by CamerounWeb.

The last meeting between Biya and Guilhou of May 27, 2022, the date on which Paul Biya had received the French ambassador. It was the President of the Republic himself who made this announcement.

“I received in audience today, at the Palace of Unity, the Ambassador of France to Cameroon, Christophe Guilhou”, announced Paul Biya.

Nothing had filtered from this meeting. But it is sure that it was French President Emmanuel Macron who sent a message to his Cameroonian counterpart.

The President of the Republic of Cameroon had sent a message of congratulations to Emmanuel Macron, on the occasion of his re-election to the Supreme Judiciary of the French Republic.

In a letter signed on Monday, April 25, 2022 and published on the Facebook page of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, the Cameroonian Head of State expresses his delight.

“I look forward to the idea of ​​continuing to work with you to strengthen the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation that have long united our two countries, in the interest of our respective peoples”.

Since Cameroon’s rapprochement with Russia, France has been trying to send signals to Yaoundé.
