Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh certainly manifested an awkward corrupt behaviour in Ghana

According to the Ghanaian press, 100,000 dollars were discovered in the bag of Dr Christopher Fomunyoh while he was completing the check-in formalities at Kotoka airport (Accra).

The Cameroonian was staying in Ghana as an electoral observer for the presidential and legislative elections of December 7, 2020 on behalf of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) of which he is the Africa regional director, reports the Ghanaian press.

The Cameroonian, we learn, could not explain with satisfaction to immigration officials where he had received such a sum.

Immigration and customs officials at Kotoka International Airport (Accra) arrested on Tuesday, December 15, one of the international observers of the December 7 elections in Ghana.

This is Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh , informs us the “Daily Post. ”

The naturalized American Cameroonian had in his possession 100,000 dollars. The money was hidden in his purse as he attempted to leave Ghana for the United States of America.

“Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh could not satisfactorily explain where the money came from when questioned,” the newspaper read.

According to the Ghanaian press, the Cameroonian-born American said it was the money he had brought from NDI for him and his colleagues to spend in the event of a run-off election.

Since there was no second round, they did not spend that money .

Asked how he got such a large amount of money out of the United States into Ghana, Christopher Fomunyoh was left vague.

The press points out that Christopher Fomunyoh has instead chosen to involve his supporters in the state apparatus to force immigration officials to let him go.

In Ghana, all travelers must declare at the point of departure and arrival any amount of money they are carrying if it is over 10,000 US dollars.

The Ghanaian opposition believes that this money was given to Mr. Fomunyoh by the authorities.

Christopher Fomunyoh carries with him an image of a man of integrity. Such a case can tarnish its international credibility.
