It is the whistleblower Boris Bertolt who is at the origin of the revelations. According to him, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi would have sent a note to FIFA and CAF so that the authorities note the vacancy of power at the level of the Cameroonian Football Federation. This initiative, as curious as incredible as it may seem, would have taken place the day after Samuel Eto’o was sentenced to 22 months in prison, suspended in the file which opposes him to the Spanish tax authorities.
But in the process, the services of the Ministry in charge of Sport replied in order, according to them, to restore the truth of the facts.
“The Minister of Sports and Physical Education informs public opinion that he has not approached the Confederation of African Football (CAF) or the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on this subject.
