Diplomacy: Cameroon adopts electronic visas

Cameroon has embarked on a process of issuing electronic visas for travelers wishing to visit the country.

The procedure for online registration, processing, and issuing the more secure document allowing entry into the country was presented to the press at the Ministry of External Relations.

During the ceremony, chaired by the Head of Protocol at the Ministry of External Relations, Ntaribo Ashu, the procedure for producing secure consular and diplomatic documents was also presented.

He described the project as a giant step by the government to modernize its consular services in line with its vision of becoming an emerging economy by 2035.

In addition to the documents, equipment for the production, authentication and verification of the various official documents was also presented before sending them to airports and consular services.

More than 80 tons of equipment and materials have been shipped to the country to facilitate the implementation of the new digital system.

The technical director of Impact Palmarès, Mbow Nassirou, the company that supports the government in the implementation of the project, specified that various security measures taken to guarantee each of the documents and the procedure for obtaining them.

He also said that state-of-the-art equipment has been provided for the production of visas and other consular documents. He said design rights were also acquired to protect the different designs and logos used on each of the documents.
