Conflict prevention: Paul Biya sends Beti Assomo to Obiang Nguema Mbasogo
Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea no longer want to have conflicts over their borders and between their populations. Many other topics of cooperation and good neighborliness were discussed by Joseph Beti Assomo, sent by Paul Biya and Théodoros Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
The Minister Delegate to the Presidency of the Republic, in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo paid a working visit to Malabo in Equatorial Guinea on Sunday 18 and Monday 19 September. This trip, instructed by Paul Biya, ended with an audience granted by the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Mindef and his delegation.
The interview between the Cameroonian emissary and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo took place yesterday, at the end of the morning at the Palais du Peuple, in the presence of the ambassador of ???????? in Equatorial Guinea, Désiré Jean-Claude Menguele, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General René-Claude Meka, Brigadier Generals Simon Ezo’o Mvondo and Elias Toungue respectively Commander of the First joint military region (RMIA1) and Commander of the First Gendarmerie Region (RG 1).
At the end of this meeting, Mindef indicated that it was carrying an important message from President Paul Biva to his Equatoguinean counterpart, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
