Chris Anu casts doubt on the death of the first ever Ambazonian field marshall

Announced by the Cameroonian army and confirmed by some Ambazonians, the death of Field Marshall is still shrouded in mystery. Journalist Michel Biem Tong, well introduced to the English-speaking North West and South West regions of Cameroon, explains why the news must be taken with a grain of salt.

“For the moment, only a certain Capo Daniel, spokesman for the Ambazonia Defense Forces, a militia in the service of the power of Yaoundé (whose animosity towards Field Marshall was known), announced the death of the commander of the Red Dragons of Lebialem, Oliver Lekeaka aka Field Marshall. Neither his own brother, Chris Anu, nor the television channel of the latter Africa Brodcasting Service (ABS), even less the dissident wing of the Ambazonian government led by Aya Marienta (controlled by the power of Yaoundé and whom Field Marshall said was now in service) didn’t make it breaking news,” he said.

Michel Biem Tong also reveals that Field Marshall is no longer among the Ambazonian fighters fighting for the liberation of Noso. He would have pledged allegiance to the Yaoundé authorities in 2021.

“So it’s hard to say for sure that Field Marshall was killed. But in the event that he is, it would in no way impact the course of the Ambazonian resistance which continues on the ground because Field Marshall was no longer part of the armed struggle of the people of Southern Cameroons-Ambazonia since the month of last November. Indeed, the leader of the Red Dragons chose to follow his brother in his unjustified crusade against the legitimate president of the Ambazonian government Samuel Sako Ikome, at the instigation of Colonel Joël Émile Bamkoui, commander of the Military Security Division (SEMIL). and barbouze-in-chief of the Biya regime”, specifies the journalist.
