As Thomas Sankara said, a poorly trained soldier is a danger to society. In Cameroon, a soldier has just shot a peaceful citizen at close range.
According to the victim’s brother, both were at a place called “council junction” when they were attacked by soldiers around 7:30 p.m.
While they had their hands in evidence, one of the soldiers will fire, killing his brother at point-blank range. He will succeed in fleeing through the grass and will later recount the film of the events.
The body of the young man was found early this Friday, May 20, 2022, abandoned on the side of the road around the Council of Ntarikon in Bamenda.
Sources say he was shot last night around 8pm by government forces. The forces opened fire on a family (father, mother and two boys) who were accompanying a sick child to the hospital.
As they approached the gas station at the Ntarinkon Council intersection, there was heavy fire from the soldiers who thought they were amba boys.
“They ran, unfortunately one of the boys was shot,” said a witness who witnessed the scene. The rest of the family members managed to escape.
On May 20, his body was recovered from the side of the road awaiting burial.
