AMBAZONIANS KILL A NEW SOLDIER OFFICER IN MEZAM DIVISION
The war continues in the English-speaking part of Cameroon. Despite the rise of the regular army with the recent deployment of special forces, the Ambazonian separatists are not disarming. They still retain their nuisance power. After having lost formidable warlords in recent days, they are trying to carry out counter-offensives which have just been fatal to a Cameroonian soldier.
According to reports, the soldier in question was killed by a separatist faction in Bamenda, capital of the Mezam division and the North West region. “The young soldier Ateba was killed in an ambush by the Ambazonians,” said Nzui Manto, the whistleblower who regularly informs about the Anglophone crisis.
Drama: two Cameroonian soldiers killed today by rockets at NOSO
The information is reported by our colleagues from Camer.be. A Cameroonian army convoy was the victim of a rocket attack on September 9, 2022 in Manyemen, a small town in the commune of Nguti, department of Koupé-Manengouba (South-West). Two soldiers unfortunately lost their lives and an army vehicle was completely destroyed during the attack of rare violence.
“The separatists attacked the military convoy with a rocket. The toll is two soldiers killed, “said a military authority on condition of anonymity to the colleague of Camer.be. The start of the 2022-2023 school year is particularly deadly in the North-West and South-West regions. Armed separatist groups have intensified indiscriminate strikes against civilian and military targets.
6 dead in Bua
The particularly bloody attack on a Golden Express transport bus on September 6, 2022 on the Buea-Kumba axis in the Fako department is condemned by the Cameroonian government. The Minister of Communication, government spokesman Emmanuel René Sadi in a press release dated September 07, 2022 attributes the responsibility for this “cruel and barbaric terrorist attack” to heavily armed terrorists who aim to sow terror within the population and “thus compromising a hopeful start to school in the South-West region)”.
According to the official toll provided by the government, 6 people lost their lives during the attack. 8 other people are injured.

The remains of the deceased persons as well as the injured were transported to the morgue of the regional hospital in Buea where they are cared for. The separatist armed groups had promised to prevent the 2022-2023 school year in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon. They have decreed “dead city” days and hunt down people who try to override these measures to go about their business.
The military option
Cameroonians learned this weekend via the media that Paul Biya has authorized the deployment of special forces in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon. These soldiers who are the cream of the Cameroonian army are called upon to lend a hand to their comrades from the BIR and other units who have been trying since 2016 to overcome armed separatist groups.
For the separatist leader Mark Bareta, the sending of special forces to the NOSO is proof of the victory of the separatist groups over the Cameroonian soldiers who lost several men at the front. He reveals that the strength of the Ambazonians does not lie in the military training of the Amba Boys.
“The fact that Cameroon is deploying special forces in Ambazonia is indicative of the victories of Ambazonia fighters, whose cherished BIRs have been reduced to nothing. In Amba, we have no trained forces. We have three things they lack: The will, the people and God,” he posted on his Twitter account.
Paul Biya has always been in favor of the military option for the resolution of the Anglophone crisis. According to sources close to the presidency, members of the government who wish to negotiate with these Cameroonians who have taken up arms are outvoted. Despite the numerous deployments of soldiers in these areas, insecurity is permanent. This week has been particularly deadly at NOSO.
