As things stand, Ambazonia is one of the areas where you should not go in Cameroon, given the constantly rampant insecurity. More and more men and women are being killed in the region, not to mention several hundred wounded recorded since the beginning of the war in this part of Cameroon.
Ambazonia is also called Amba Land. It is a secessionist state from Cameroon self-proclaimed on October 1, 2017 in English-speaking Cameroon. It is made up, according to its own definition, of the North West and South West regions of Cameroon (Noso).
On the morning of Thursday August 11, 2022, scop.com editorial staff heard that there was again violence and a barbaric act in Ambazonia, resulting in one death, plunging an entire family into mourning.
In a new post from the whistleblower who first announced the commander’s death, the victim can be seen addressing Cameroonians in a video.
“Immersion in Ambazonia. The commander of the Kumbo gendarmerie brigade who was shot dead last night (Wednesday August 10, editor’s note) at his home by the Ambazonians had recorded a video the same day. Video in which he spoke in Ewondo to village acquaintances,” wrote the Cameroonian.
He then translates what the commander is currently saying in the afterlife: “The minister gave me three (03) years here. I have been here for two (02) years and I have one (01) year left [ …] If all goes well, I will be with you next year to take part in the football match […] Pray for me so that I leave this satanic place where I am “”.
“A few hours later, he will be killed at his home. What the media in the pay of Paul Biya does not show you, I have sworn to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. The commander was the 1,398th soldier killed since the start of the war,” the source concludes.
