A CAMEROONIAN DIES BY DROWING IN CANADA

scop4.com has learned of the death of Cameroonian Timneu Fezeu and Ivorian Christelle Marielle Kouass on Wednesday, June 1 in a river in Montreal.

According to sources in Canada, one of the two Africans slipped and fell into the water and drowned. The second, who tried to save his friend, also drowned.

The victims are two young students from Laval University in Quebec City.
The two comrades Timneu Fezeu (Cameroonian) and Christelle Marielle Kouass (Ivorian), students at Laval University were walking on the bridge of the Saint-Charles River with some friends, to enjoy the sun that offers this early summer in the city of #Quebec when the drama occurred.

Marielle Kouassi unfortunately slipped at some point and fell into the river, which is very cold, calm in appearance but with a fairly strong and dangerous flow at this time of year. Kevin did not hesitate to dive very quickly to help his friend Marielle who was sinking, unfortunately both could not get out of the water, and until the time of publication of our article, the bodies of the two Africans are not yet found.

All search measures are being used to find the two students, including divers from the Quebec City police, dog handlers, lifeboats and helicopters.

The witnesses and other friends of Kevin and Marielle are very upset by this tragedy. In Cameroon and Ivory Coast, the families are deeply shocked and hope that the bodies will be found in order to mourn.
It should be noted that almost half of the drownings in Quebec (41%) occur in rivers and very often at this time of year.

According to other sources who quote the cousin of one of the victims, the Cameroonian embassy in Ottawa cannot be reached.
